A Fire for Life
Image: thanks to Ian Edokov (Substack)
Shining a gentle hue of resonance within the darkness of despair, I see you
It was a coal fire, my grandad in his armchair right beside it
Illuminating a space for refuge, empathy, and comfort, I am with you
In the bleak depth of icy shadows, the fire was where most time was spent
Flicking a switch, catalysing the light bulb of insight, I get it too
He would tell me stories of old
Sustaining hope like the eternal rise of the warm sun, it’s ok
It lasted well, until the next time the coal man delivered
Igniting growth like the flash of a striking match, we can do this
The daily ritual of cultivating the flame
Radiating support for our world, we are!
Ancestral wisdom, and I still love the smell of a fire

Tracy, this is magnificent.
An incantation ❤️
